Pagadian is discribed by the Department of Tourism of Pagadian is a "land of lakes, caves and waterfalls". Sounds good, but is perhaps gilding the lilly a bit. What may interest the traveller is that the small town of Lapuian, 40 km from Pagadian, and other parts of the two Zamboangan provinces are home to the Subanon, which means "river people".
